In a beautiful red brick building with Swedish-inspired architecture, stands the parish of the Swedish Church of Paris, founded in 1626.
Very simple, this interior is made up of rows of wooden benches leading to the choir. The walls covered with painted motifs recall those of the church porch. The modern stained glass windows contrast with the sculpted mezzanine on which the organ is located.
Built between 1911 and 1913, the Swedish Church of Paris celebrates religious services in Swedish, according to the Lutheran liturgy. It also offers quality concerts, as well as numerous activities to spend a convivial moment and "feel a little at home in the French capital." Swedes of all ages, passing through or settled in Paris, gather here and share the very lively Swedish traditions celebrated throughout the year. For example, you can participate in Saint Lucia's Day on December 13th, which marks the arrival of winter in a luminous and musical way. And besides religious traditions, the Christmas market is another opportunity to discover and appreciate Sweden in Paris.
